Yongbo Jia, MD (贾勇波)
Deputy Director & Head of Dermatology · Vice Chief Physician, Licensed Aesthetic Attending
Dermatology · medical acne control · pigment aftercare
Dr. Yongbo Jia is Deputy Director of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center and head of its dermatology service at Chongqing West District Hospital — the lead physician of this site’s acne content. A vice chief physician and licensed aesthetic attending, he graduated from Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and trained in dermatology at the Institute of Dermatology, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and at Chongqing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
His practice is the medical control of acne: teenage and adult acne, hormonal patterns, the look-alike conditions that are mistaken for acne, the aftercare of post-inflammatory marks, and the judgement about when oral treatment is justified and how it is monitored. He treats acne as a chronic condition to be managed over months and years rather than a problem to be blasted away in a fortnight.

Diagnosis first
Most acne treatment failures trace back to a missed diagnosis or an abandoned routine. Getting the assessment right, then staying with the maintenance plan, is what quietly produces results over months.
